Favorite Photography Podcast:
My fascination with photography began at seventeen years of age when I received my first 35mm SLR camera. Once I learned how to operate the camera and after shooting my first thirty-six black & white exposures I was hooked for life. I was very curious about how the camera operated and how I could use it as a tool to creatively express myself. My interest quickly turned to how I could use photography to express my vision of people, places and things, and so began a life long interest in photography and creative expression.
My professional photography
career started with a job as a special events photographer covering fraternity
and sorority parties while attending college. Following graduation, I was hired
on full-time to photograph special events, conventions, and weddings. It was
during this time that I discovered my second passion in life; training and
development, when I was asked to train some newly hired special events
photographers. Learning from this experience, I started my own photography
business in the mid 1980’s and I haven’t stopped shooting and instructing
since.
