Winston, I just wanted to drop you a note and tell you how much I enjoyed the workshop.    It was such a pleasure to be with you and to be able to learn from you.  I really appreciate all of the help and your willingness to share your vast knowledge with me.  This was a dream come true for me.  I have the most beautiful images of the trip - I am quite flabbergasted with the results!  I have made some 24 x 36 prints of the trip,  and i am so pleased with the results.  Your tutelage has been very instrumental in my photographic advancement.  I look forward to being with you in the future on another workshop.

Thank you for being such a great instructor and Mentor.  I am anxious to share some of my images with you when you come to Phoenix in November.  This was an experience that I will always remember and cherish.

"I was fortunate to book this Workshop with Winston Hall. I had an experience of a lifetime without any exaggeration whatsoever. I have been on a number of workshops over the past 50 years (not all photography, but other interest too.) and most have fell short of my expectations.

This workshop with Winston was much more than I could ever have imagined and far exceeded my most expectations. His knowledge and expertise in Nikon Cameras and major imaging software programs is nothing short of amazing.

He has taught me more about photography and who I am as a photographer in 4 short days as I have learned over the past lifetime of experiences.

The weather was not the best and he was able to adapted and change the schedule on the fly so as to have other opportunities and make the best use of our short time. I felt that we had more than enough to photograph in spite of the weather and they were all great locations with wonderful photo opportunities. I don't know what we might have missed, but it didn't matter because we had amazing things to shoot with whatever light conditions existed at that time.

He did not bring a camera with him !!! That really impressed me, it was not about him, rather this was for us. Instead, as we were out for the day he would bounce around each make each of would make each of us look inside ourselves to see what grabbed our interest to take a picture. Then made subtle suggestions as to focus on composition and lighting conditions. He made sure that he divided his time evenly among all the attendees. He had the ability to make all of us feel that he took a personal interest in each and everyone of us.

In the field he would give demonstrations on histograms, and special features of our cameras that would enhance our chances of taking wonderful images. We learned the value of using a gray card, examining lighting situations, examining shadows and highlights, camera positions, all in real time and in the field.

Rather that lecturing in a class room, he would stop us on a photo shoot and show with real practical instructions on the conditions that existed right then and there. What works and what doesn't work both esthically and technically. A magnificent way to teach in my humble opinion.

I am coming up on my 70th birthday, and I hope that I still have my health to be able to attend another workshop with Winston Hall.

“I want to take this opportunity to thank Winston Hall and the Nikonians organization for putting on a terrific series of workshops in Raleigh over the last few days. I attended the D200 and CLS/iTTL workshops. I have only had my D200 for about 11 months. I have read the manual, other books and a video on the D200, but knew that a class would help. I thought the D200 was really good when it ended. Winston asked what we had learned and I could think of at least a couple of things. The next day I was going over my notes and recalling the workshop and made a list of 35 things I learned and could really use. Wow!! But that was just the beginning, Sunday I came back for the CLS/iTTL class where I could really use some help and Winston didn't disappoint! I haven't made a list yet of what I learned, but it will be voluminous! Winston not only tells you the mechanics, but also the valuable parts of getting good photographs. The "attendees/photography information junkies" were really good. The exercises are great. I am certainly very interested in attending more Nikonians workshops and an ANPAT.”
